The majestic redwood trees and forest of The Mountain Terrace were the perfect backdrop for Lauren and Dino’s summer wedding! Their colorful floral palette really popped against the more neutral backdrop, and the vintage VW bus photo booth they incorporated was so much fun! And not just for the guests! 😉 I try to pop in to every photo booth at weddings that I photograph so I can leave a few surprise photos for the couple, and I also keep one copy for myself so I can look back at all the fun I had each wedding season!

Another highlight from Lauren and Dino’s wedding were their fun details I got to photograph at the start of the day. They kept most of the wedding details neutral and left all the color to the flowers, which made for really eye-catching photos! (Make sure to read Dino’s cologne bottle; it makes me smile every time!)

Did you know that I often bring my own flowers to style with the details at the start of wedding days? I have my couples send me their floral palette and a photo of an invitation ahead of time so I can make sure to match the theme! This is perfect for wedding days where the bride and groom are getting ready at a different location (like this wedding), because the florist will often deliver everything to the venue, which means we don’t have flowers at the start of the day. In this case, I’ll bring my own flowers that match so I can be sure to have something to elevate your detail photos! Another favorite part of the day was listening to the toasts; you can see how much fun everyone is having and I love capturing the emotion of it all! Plus I always learn something new about my couples, which is also a joy! Overall it was such a beautiful summer day with the sweetest and most laid back couple!
