This wedding has absolutely been one of the highlights of my photography career so far! Victoria and Sameer wanted to blend their Indian and Mexican cultures to create a wedding celebration that was uniquely them! When they sent me their wedding inspiration and idea deck (yes, they’re that organized; my kind of people! :P), I was blown away with the vibrancy and choice of colors and details and knew that my colorful and whimsical photography style would be perfectly suited to capture their carefully planned celebration!
The morning of their wedding was spent photographing all the stunning details and jewelry at a local hotel, followed by a first look and portraits at…wait for it…a nearby city hall! Yup, those stunning white walls, arches, hallways, and columns are part of Brentwood City Hall! This, my friends, is why I like to location scout ahead of time for the perfect backdrops to compliment your wedding day! The clean, crisp backdrop was exactly what was needed for those red and gold wedding colors to stand out!
(If you’d like to learn more about my location scouting process check out this blog post, and if you want to know my tried and true photography locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, check out my Location Guides here!)
The Baraat, Milni, and ceremony were held at a private residence in Oakley, complete with palm trees, pool, and a custom reception tent! Colorful ribbons adorned the guest chairs, and a mariachi band signaled the start of cocktail hour and party time for the guests!
I absolutely loved how Victoria switched up her look throughout the day and added a red rose to her hair as a nod to her Mexican heritage, and the piñata and churros that came out during the reception really added to the fun atmosphere! It’s so thrilling to me when couples choose to blend their cultures and traditions during their wedding celebration to create something incredibly special and unique, and this was definitely one of those days!
Special thanks to my associate and assistant photographers for helping out with this one!
