Winter in the San Francisco Bay Area can come with lots of rain, but on this day in late January for Kathy and John’s engagement session the sun was out and dare I say it was (nearly) warm! The cliffs in Half Moon Bay can get quite windy, but Kathy completely rocked her sleeveless dress and you’d never know it! Plus, it gave them a good opportunity to get close to each other to stay warm. 🙂
We started their session off in a forested area where the sun showed off with a gorgeous golden glow, and ended it at the cliffs and beaches of Half Moon Bay where the ice plants glowed red as the sun set over the ocean. I love the movement Kathy’s dress has as they ran through the sand at the end of the session!
This combination of forest, cliffs, and beach is one of my favorite for engagement sessions because of the varied backdrops and option for different looks. I loved how Kathy and John chose a casual outfit to start with among the trees, and switched it up to a more formal look for the cliffs and beach.
