Kelsey and Nick had one of my favorite color palettes ever for their 1970s themed disco wedding in Oakland last year! They combined each of their favorite colors, purple and orange, with her favorite era of music (the ’70s of course!) to create a fresh + fun theme for their colorful day! (Pssst…you can check out their colorful mural engagement photos here!)
The Bridge Yard in Oakland was such a great industrial backdrop for the pops of color, and the large windows filled the space with natural light. Kim from KLO events brought in lounge furniture and colorful backdrops to adorn the entry, and Marissa from the Wild Fleur Co absolutely nailed the flowers (I think Kelsey’s modern structured bouquet with just a pop of orange is my favorite ever!). The guests were just as fun as the couple, because they also came outfitted to match the colorful disco theme!
There was a giant cutout of their dog to welcome guests, canned cocktails available for sipping during the ceremony, a parmesan guy who sprinkled fresh flakes down the aisle before the bride entered (and it made the space smell delicious!), a cheese cake (made of actual cheese wheels) that was cut by the couple during cocktail hour, a fun outfit change (shag jacket, purple shades, + disco ball earrings!) for golden hour portraits, and an epic dance party under spinning disco balls (see the last photo for a fun GIF)!
Oh, and did I mention that their wedding day was featured on Green Wedding Shoes?! 🎉 You just have to check out the photos from their day below!
