When Kristen and Mikey had their first date she thought it was going to be a simple coffee chat for a few minutes, but they actually ended up spending the whole day hanging out and have been together ever since! Sometimes it’s as simple as that when you find your person; you feel so comfortable with them it’s as if you’ve known each other forever! Then come the inside jokes, funny nicknames for each other, and before you know it you’re coming up with cat puns to put in your wedding vows (with the help of AI of course 😉)! Yes, they had cat themed vows and it was amazing!
This wedding day (and these two) stole my heart! Couples who can have so much fun together and just be themselves and in the moment are my kind of people! I’m also a sucker for a small wedding day (my husband and I only had 34 guests at our wedding); and one built with intentionality, purpose, and the things you enjoy together. Kristen and Mikey had just that kind of a wedding! The garden setting added so much color and beauty to their ceremony despite the classic Bay Area fog, and the restaurant reception was perfect for conversation, lounging, and casual enjoyment of the delicious food and drinks!
One thing that was important to the couple was taking group photos of each of the guests and their partners/families so the photos could be given as a gift/post wedding thank you. I love being able to provide this for your guests when you have a smaller wedding!
Other favorites from Kristen and Mikey’s wedding day included their 13 year old black lab making an appearance throughout the day (check out the photo of the pup peeking out from under the dinner table), funky coats (made by one of their guests) coming out for portraits at the end of the day, a fun mural on the side of the restaurant, the cake made by a family member, Kristen’s unique wedding boots, and Mikey’s space cat tie he changed into for the reception!
