Lauren and Dave’s low key, peaceful personalities and love of hiking were perfectly suited for an intimate wedding among the redwood trees at Old Mill Park, one of Mill Valley’s hidden gems! Old Mill Park is owned by the city of Mill Valley (which makes it a very affordable choice for an elopement or intimate wedding) and is tucked away behind the library in a grove of redwood trees not too far from the downtown.
The surrounding neighborhood is filled with beautiful homes, which made the perfect backdrop for couple portraits before their Buddhist ceremony! (I always make sure to scout out photography locations and backdrops ahead of time to make sure your wedding day flows seamlessly and we’re able to capture the photos that are most important to you! Lauren’s choice of a modern fall color palette of coral, rust, and yellow (with a touch of pink!) for their flowers was perfect for an October wedding and I loved how it added the a thoughtful detail to the ceremony and portraits.
My favorite surprise of the day was when their Pomeranian, Rambo, insisted on joining them on the stage for the ceremony! He wore the cutest tuxedo! (Scroll to the end to see what I mean!)
Post ceremony and photos, the couple and their families enjoyed an outdoor dinner at a local restaurant; the perfect relaxed end to a peaceful wedding day! It was an honor to be able to capture it for them!
