When my friend, Jazz, told me she wanted to head to Palm Springs and create a colorful photoshoot with a teal Mustang convertible, you know I was 100% in! We’ve had a lot of fun in Palm Springs in the past (check out our previous photoshoot and a few Palm Springs recommendations here), so I was definitely looking forward to another adventure! Plus, she didn’t even know this, but when I started my photography business I dreamt of a colorful California photoshoot with a teal convertible. Friends, dreams do come true!
Jazz has amazing style and has a way of finding unique vintage clothes and accessories, plus she’s a great creative director as well as model! So she brought along a few one-of-a-kind outfits and props along with her vintage mustang convertible, and we headed out into the desert seeking creative fulfillment! First stop was Salvation Mountain: a colorful art installation in the desert. On the way back we stopped at the Salton Sea just in time to catch a beautiful sunset!
As a bonus, at the end of the week Jazz’s husband also joined us for a couples photoshoot among the palm trees and mid century modern neighborhoods. We even posed their Mustang, Elvis, like a model among the bougainvillea and cotton candy skies! ๐ (Oh, and there’s also one quick photo we took after brunch at The Parker! You know, the one with the orange door! ๐งก)
Side note: If you haven’t planned this kind of a trip for yourself, I highly recommend it! It’s so important to reset and to create things just for yourself with people that inspire and encourage you, especially if you’re in an industry like photography. It was such a refreshing trip filled with creativity, connection, and plenty of color!
