I had no idea that a city hall wedding could be so beautiful! San Francisco truly has the most stunning city hall building! It’s bathed in marble, gold accents, and stunning natural light on every level. And bonus, if you get there early on a weekday (we’re talking right when it opens at 8am), you can have the place to yourself. A few hours into the day the landscape changes as couples roll in for their civil ceremonies and buses of kids and tourists arrive on field trips and vacations. I love just sitting on the marble stairs and watching the hustle and bustle around me as people of all walks of life come to marvel at the architecture and celebrate love.
There are seriously some of the most gorgeous weddings here! Brides (and grooms) go all out with their style, and why shouldn’t they with such a beautiful backdrop for under $200 (for a civil ceremony)?! Speaking of style, can we talk about how gorgeous this couple is?
The bride, Jasmine, wore a vintage 70s jumpsuit from The Way We Wore with texture details and nude heels, despite a recent sprained ankle. (Sometimes you just have to sacrifice for that wedding day style!) And the groom, Jakob, matched with a vintage blue tie and suit. The whole ensemble was pulled together with yellow sunflower accents by Fresh4Us. Give me this color combination any day!
In addition to being their wedding photographer, I also had the honor of being their witness. I’ve known Jasmine and Jakob since the start of their relationship and it meant so much to be a part of their intimate ceremony. There’s just something special about a small ceremony and getting to be a part of a couple’s quiet love story.
Here’s a peak at their intimate and elegant day!
